ICPT Launches new website!

25-Mar-2009 The Institute For the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT) announces the launch of a new website.  The new website is designed to make it easier for visitors to find resources in preparing for national certification with the ExCPT, register for the certification exam and understand some of the requirements that vary by state.

ICPT publishes The National Pharmacy Technician Training Manual now in its sixth edition.  The manual is used by many pharmacies and pharmacy technician training programs to provide the necessary knowledge pharmacy technicians need to safely assist the pharmacist.  The manual covers basic duties of the techncian, the dispensing process, federal law, patient interaction and privacy, pharmacy calculations, sterile product preparation, the most commonly dispensed drug products, and offers an overivew of disease states, pharmacology, herbal products and medical terminology.  The manual includes practice questions at the end of each chapter and uniquely includes a section for assessing and evaluating the competencies covered in each chapter.  Volume discounts are available by contacting ICPT.

The ExCPT is a national pharmacy technician certification exam that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.  An option in over 40 states, the ExCPT provides a convenient cost-effective choice for pharmacy technicians wanting to demonstrate their commitment to the profession with certification.

ICPT also offers other study and preparation aides such as prescription and over-the-counter review cards and practice tests.
