29-Apr-2010The Delaware Board of Pharmacy voted to approve the national certification exam, ExCPT, at their March 17, 2010 meeting.
The Delaware Code defines a certified pharmacy technician as a person who has passed an exam recognized by the Board. Although certification is completely voluntary, technicians are encouraged to gain this national recognition of their knowledge and skills.
The ExCPT has been approved by 26 Boards of Pharmacy and is an option in another 17 states. Testing is available in two locations in Delaware and an additional 8 locations within 60 miles. With over 550 test locations across the county, technicians can find a convenient location.
Candidates may register by calling LaserGrade at 1-800-211-2753. Exams can be taken within one or two days of registration and results are available immediately upon completion of the exam. The Exam fee is $105.
