ExCPT Reinstatement Application and Payment
Your pharmacy technician certification must be renewed every two years. During the two-year period prior to recertification, certified pharmacy technicians must participate in at least 20 hours of continuing education (CE), including at least one hour of pharmacy law.
The REINSTATEMENT FORM should be used if your required Continuing Education was completed AFTER your expiration date. Reinstatement applications must be completed in full and returned to ICPT via fax, email or mail with payment of $80. Click Here for the reinstatement form. If you have completed ALL of the required continuing education PRIOR to your expiration date and you are taking advantage of the 90 day grace period, you can recertify using the recertification form (Click Here for Form) and submit with appropriate payment.

Additional Reinstatement Information
It is very important to understand that you must participate in at least 20 hours of continuing education (CE), including at least one hour of pharmacy law. (Certificates of Participation MUST be obtained for each CE program before the expiration date on your certificate). Please read the following to ensure a successful re-instatement.
Applications not completed correctly will be returned and will require a $10 reapplication fee.
- Checks returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $25 administrative fee.
- Certified technicians are allowed to re-instate 18 months after expiration of their certification and can include CE credit earned after the expiration date.
- Technicians certification status is 'expired' until they have successfully completed the re-instatement process.
- Any CE completed AFTER the expiration date, automatically requires the technician to go through the re-instatement process.
- Certificants will receive a new ICPT certificate by mail approximately 60 days after ICPT has received the re-instatement materials and approved the application.
- Pharmacy Technicians going through the re-instatement process will need to list all continuing education credits and include copies of Certificates of Participation. Photocopies are acceptable.
